Ditto
Multiplying productivity through digital clones
Ever felt burnt out? Like there's not enough time in the day? A solution made simple, built & managed all by you so doing it all actually seems achievable. We were all made to achieve great things & Ditto is here to help!
Context
This project was a collaborative effort between 3 other designers for Figma’s Figbuild 2025. This design-a-thon has given us a lot of freedom and we explored different pain points of our own to spark our creative process! Our team was mostly remote & were formed the day of the competition.
Role
Product Designer
Timeline
48 hours
Project Theme
Superpower Toolkit
Constraints
Time
Asynchronous Communication
Prompt Restriction
Initiation
Building from the ground up
As an asynchronous team with students from different schools requiring coordination in balancing this hackathon and schoolwork, we needed to familiarize each other with one another and personal work styles.

Project Kickoff
We started by brain dumping into a Figjam, taking note of personal pain points.
Problem
Burn out is real & we’ve experienced it first hand.
We live in a revolutionary society where many things are being built, technology is changing drastically, and sometimes taking on that world can be overwhelming. We’ve all seen or been burnt out with immense amount of responsibility.
How might we transform the way students tackle responsibilities to prevent burnout & increase quality of life?
Solution
Introduce an innovative experience to reduce constant burnout without losing out on productivity and experiences.
It’s always better to accomplish things as a team!

How it works
Every day, users are given energy credits to expend on their clones.
Users will create a new or assign an existing clone a task.
Assign your clones a suggested task or create your own and get an estimate of credit usage.
Delegate your clone to a specific area & give it a radius to stay within.
Curious as to what your clone is doing? Check the messaging or live feed where your clones are uploading their details!
But wait. Why can’t my clones roam freely?
Avoid Potential Risks
We implemented measures to prevent clones from colluding with one another to take over the main body.
With great power comes great responsibility. We wouldn’t want other people to find out your secret or inspire your clones to conspire together to overthrow you and take over your main body and then take over the world and then take over space....but they wouldn’t!.. right? It doesn’t hurt to take safety precautions...haha.

Users can draw their set radius with their finger or tap on a location & size the radius using the slider!
Retrospective
Although our project didn’t win, I still learned so many valuable lessons from observing the winning projects.
Every design decision should support a narrative.
Visiting our competitors presentation deck, all of them had a compelling introduction with valid user research to back up their design decisions. Each product had the user story and their intentions behind it.
Designing under pressure and time constraints
Due to our limited time & our team doing work asynchronously, I further enhanced my communication and assertion skills to further my experience in being a leader. Understanding task requirements & proper duration to estimate work load was extremely crucial to ensure our collaboration as a team worked like a well-oiled machine.
Scope Control Importance
Many ideas came up as we brainstormed, but we were reminded that we were building a minimum viable product. This pushed us to focus on the core user flow and key problem, reinforcing the importance of prioritization.
